First Blog

So here we go, first blog post, hopefully this becomes easier. The reason I was inspired to start was by a thread on Twitter by Jack Rhysider, the creator of the podcast Darknet Diaries. Another reason is I just changed my role where I work, I moved from Software Engineer, leading a team as we implemented a custom component library, to Application Security Engineer, a role that is rare, where I live according to LinkedIn I am only the sixth and in September 2020 there was around 5000 in the US.

So I only started the role this week, it has been a bit awkward with my manager being on leave (I was meant to start a week ago but it got pushed back) but it has been enjoyable and a massive learning experience. One of the themes of this blog will be my experiences as I learn. But since I went from working today straight to creating this site, I am going to wait until next time to write something.
